Najeeba Syed is a board certified acupuncturist and NCCAOM diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL and San Diego, CA. She also holds a B.A. in anthropology and psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
Najeeba’s primary treatment methods include Chinese herbal medicine, Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine and orthopedic acupuncture approaches. She believes a holistic model of medicine which empowers patients to take an active role in their own healing process allows for greater clinical success. She enjoys partnering with her patients to find the best methods of care for each individual.
Growing up with a family of physicians, she always felt a calling towards a career in healthcare. She discovered East Asian medicine after navigating treatment for her own chronic pain issues. While she enjoys treating all health conditions, her special interests include anxiety/depression, autoimmune disorders and pain conditions.
Najeeba is excited to join the vibrant community at Armonia Health LLC. She has experience providing care in several community settings, including a chronic pain and trauma program at Heartland Health Center and HIV/AIDS outreach clinic at Project Vida Health Center in Chicago.
Najeeba is also a professional violinist and loves to perform and teach. She enjoys traveling and exploring other cultures through music and food.
